While last month we took a look at our latest shaker kitchen, this month we decided to take a look at a very different but equally stunning kitchen. Always on the lookout for the latest trends, our designers turned to Pantone’s fashion colour trend report to find out which colours will be influencing our home in the coming months.
A mixture of bold autumnal hues make up the AW18 colour palette, and our designers, in keeping with the client’s brief, opted for a colour similar to Pantone’s Nebulas Blue; a shade that expresses both originality and creativity.
Used as the main colour throughout, this striking colour choice has been complemented by the use of Cornforth White by Farrow and Ball, which has been used to accent areas of the kitchen including the window seating and display cabinets. The finished result is a kitchen with a modern vibe mixed with traditional elements, including the lay-on shaker style cabinets and moulded cornice.
As a busy hub of a family home, the client wanted a kitchen that worked for both family and entertaining of friends, which our design team delivered on by adding an informal breakfast bar, as well as the casual seating area (a bespoke window seat).
To help facilitate a busy family life, our clients opted for a bank of appliances from Siemens that featured a combination steam oven, microwave oven and two conventional ovens, along with a separate induction hob. To complete the look, a Fisher and Paykel American Fridge Freezer was selected for its practical and stylish good looks.
Overall, our designers have created a kitchen that effortlessly blends modern technology – that makes food preparation and cooking easy – along with traditional elements that bring a sense of warmth to the room. A particular favourite of ours is the use of a broken forward hob area which has been finished with a mantle area, designed to be in keeping with the shaker style cabinetry.
Finally, a veined carrara quartz has been used for the worktops, and has been specially sourced for its unusual blue veins as a way of complimenting the whole kitchen.
